DG Fuels, LLC, a leading Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) development company, is pleased to announce that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted a patent for its proprietary technology related to highly efficient methods and systems for converting biomass into liquid synthetic fuels. In essence, the patent provides exclusive rights to DG Fuels to make, use, sell, or import hydrocarbon-based fuels such as SAF according to their proprietary process.  This patent not only recognizes DG’s proprietary method of producing hydrocarbon-based fuels , but it also applies to the highly efficient production  other types of hydrocarbon-based fuels produced from biomass.

DG Fuels has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 12,098,323 dated September 24, 2024 covering its high carbon conversion efficiency approach to making biogenic liquid fuels.  The process involves the capture and reforming of all process biogenic CO2 and converting it to additional carbon monoxide that can be matched up with incremental green or blue hydrogen to make more synthesis gas for the production of more green fuel with no additional biomass. The practical impact of this technological approach includes greater scalability, lower dependency on biomass feedstock and dramatically lower unit costs for the synthetic fuel product.

About DG Fuels

DG Fuels is developing a synthetic fuel system with very low CO2 lifecycle emissions, utilizing its patented high carbon conversion technology that targets 97% efficiency. The DG Fuels technology directly addresses the challenge of scaling production to meet the environmental demands of the aviation industry, without the need for new engine development or additional distribution infrastructure. DG Fuels offers a significant value proposition to end-customers, providing substantial environmental benefits and the ability to effectively meet sustainability goals. If successful, DG Fuels’ carbon-efficient solution will integrate all critical elements to power, fuel, and supply SAF to its customers.
